After his father’s sudden death, Iddrisu, a talented medical student, returns to his home village of northern Ghana. Faced with a debt that could destroy his family, Iddrisu has no choice but to turn their farm and fortunes around. Over the course of a growing season, Iddrisu confronts both the tragedy and beauty of village life, and must finally choose between two very different futures.

Kelly Daniela Norris & TW Pittman

Kelly Daniela Norris’ debut feature, Sombras de Azul, won the Audience Award at the Austin Film Festival. She co-directed her second feature, Nakom, over the course of 4 months in a rural village in northeastern Ghana. A Mexican-American dual citizen, Kelly graduated with degrees in Film and Psychology and is a current PhD candidate in Cinema at the University of California, Berkeley.

TW (Trav) Pittman is a writer and producer with Rasquaché Films. The company’s Cuba-set feature, Sombras de Azul. Previously, she wrote and codirected the award-winning short film Sinnerman. A trans woman of color, Trav was born and raised in the city of San Francisco, and graduated from Columbia University with degrees in Film and Political Science
