Martin Makariev
Martin Makariev is a filmmaker born in 1981 in Sofia, Bulgaria. For a long time, he studied and worked in Germany and Switzerland but he returned to Bulgaria in 2007. A year later, he founded a production company Forward Pictures Ltd. and engaged himself in independent cinema. As second unit director, Martin participated to the direction of numerous international productions and dozens of music videos and commercials. He also directed the Bulgarian Series "Undercover" and "The Tree of Life." His debut feature film "Roseville" (which he also produced) was released in late 2013 and receives excellent ratings from local cinema guild, critics and the audience.
