Vele is an underpaid train mechanic who uses stolen marijuana to make a cake for his father to relieve his cancer pain. Suddenly, he finds himself cornered by the criminals who want their drugs back and the nosy neighbors who want the recipe for the “healing” cake.

Vele takes his father in a forgotten camp hoping that the things will quiet down, but the criminals catch them. Expecting the worst, all of a sudden Vele is shocked to hear the head mobster offering them to spare their lives in exchange for the cake recipe, hoping it will help his sick mother.

Gjorce Stavreski

Gjorce Stavreski is an award winning filmmaker from Skopje, Macedonia.
His documentary “Adam and Eve” got the Special Jury Mention Award at ZagrebDox film festival in Croatia. His short fiction “At Daybreak” was in official competition at Clermont-Ferrand film festival in France, and his short fiction “Audition Material” won the Best Short Fiction Award at Bogoshorts, Colombia.
“The Secret Ingredient” is his feature film debut. It won two international awards in pre-production: EAVE Scholarship Award at WEMW Pitching Forum in Trieste and a nomination for VFF Highlight Pitch Award at Berlinale Talent Project Market.
He is a recipient of a prestigious award 13th of November for math and sciences.
